Nepal Development Society (NeDS), in collaboration with Monash University, is implementing on a five-year research initiative aimed at improving the continuum of care for non-communicable diseases (NCDs) in three municipalities in Nepal: Changunarayan, Kageshwori Manohara, and Pokhara. The project, Co-Designing a Multi-Level Intervention for Improving Continuum of Care for Non-Communicable Diseases in Three Diverse Cities in Nepal (HRIDAYA), focuses on enhancing the diagnosis, treatment, and long-term care for individuals living with hypertension or diabetes. To support this initiative, we are seeking highly motivated and skilled candidates for the following positions:
Position: Project Officer (3 Positions)
- Locations: Changunarayan Municipality, Bagmati Province (1); Kageshwori Manohara Municipality, Bagmati Province (1); Pokhara Metropolitan City (1), Gandaki Province
- Duration: 1 year (with the possibility of extension)
Key Responsibilities:
- Facilitate collaboration and coordination with local municipalities, primary health care providers, and community health workers for the design and execution of planned project activities.
- Develop strategic plans and work packages to ensure effective implementation of project objectives.
- Identify and engage relevant stakeholders within the municipality and assist in establishing a technical advisory committee.
- Support the formation of a consumer advisory committee within the municipality.
- Organize and document regular meetings of the technical and consumer advisory committees.
- Conduct system assessments and analyze municipal data to identify individuals living with hypertension and diabetes.
- Assist in research activities, including data management and analysis.
- Collaborate closely with primary health care providers to develop and implement capacity-building initiatives.
- Conduct pre-testing of tools and facilitate semi-structured interviews with stakeholders.
- Monitor, support, and provide capacity building for research assistants involved in data collection and data management
Qualifications and Experience:
- Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Public Health or a related discipline.
- At least two years of experience in the public health sector.
- Strong data management skills.
- Fluency in both English and Nepali.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Local candidates will be given priority.
