 Environment and Public Health Organization (ENPHO), established in 1990, is a service-oriented, scientific, national non-governmental organization constantly striving toward environmental

sustainability and public that has worked in more than 55 districts of Nepal. ENPHO has been working in Nepal for more than 30 years. ENPHO’s mission is to develop, demonstrate and disseminate innovative technologies and systems to enable societies to become healthy and environmentally friendly. ENPHO envisages creating eco-societies by providing quality services on Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene (WASH), environment, and public health through research, innovations, promotion of the WASH technologies and approaches, and air pollution through the promotion of integrated community-based approaches, eco-friendly techniques, and technologies.

Environment and Public Health Organization (ENPHO) invites applications from qualified Nepali citizens for, USAID Clean Air, a five-year initiative, which aims to improve air quality in Kathmandu
Valley to approach National Ambient Air Quality Standards leading to improve health and education outcomes.

Project Officer – 1

Duty Station: ENPHO’s Central Office Kathmandu
Position Reporting to : Project Coordinator and Thematic Officers

Required Minimum Qualifications and Skills:

  • Minimum bachelor’s degree in business administration/management or public health or social sciences or related field with 2 years of experiences;
  • Experience working effectively across various teams within the project and organization and building and sustaining positive working relationships with non- government organizations, private sectors, government, and other stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated experience in implementing project activities.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to communicate clearly, effectively, and with cultural sensitivity in writing and verbally with local government, partners, civil society and diverse groups of people.
  • Good written and oral communication skills in English and Nepali.
  • Excellent Knowledge of MS office Package
  • Having a driving license for a two-wheeler will be an advantage.

Duties and Responsibilities

The key duties and responsibilities of the position will be listed below.

  • Assist the project team in managing and implementing project activities in line with approved annual plan and budget.
  •  Ensure internal and external coordination, admin, logistics, financial processing, and reporting related to implementation of project activities such as trainings, workshops,
    or any other event.
  •  Closely coordinate with project team on timely collection of data, information, plan, reports, and other project documents.
  • Provide support to the process of project’s activities and reporting process.
  •  Provide support in periodic program review meetings, document action points and follow up with team members for execution.
  •  Review plan, reports, concept notes and any other documents received for the project and report to the supervisor with quality input and feedback.
  •  Support for layout, formatting, editing and translation of documents.
  • Prepare concept notes, meeting minutes, monthly updates, and any other documents
    as required.
  •  Support project documentation process
  • Support project’s SBCC activities and prepare for documentation of success stories, newsletter, and other knowledge materials.

Project Manager – 1

Duty Station: Kathmandu Central Office
Position Reports to: Program Director

Required min qualifications and experiences:

  •  Master’s degree in environmental science, public health, management and social sciences, or any other relevant related field with minimum 3 years of work experience in environment
    and public health;
  •  Excellent technical skills, knowledge and working experiences on strategic planning, program design, implementation etc;
  • Proven experience of working with diverse team within and outside the organization to implement the project;
  •  High level of interpersonal skills establishing and maintaining positive working relationships with consortium partners and major stakeholders.
  •  Proactive, multi-tasking with flexibility to travel in remote areas as demanded by the project.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills establishing and maintaining positive working relationships with consortium partners and major stakeholders along with excellent communication, coordination and collaboration, team building and management, and problem-solving skills.
  • Good oral and writing skills on both English and Nepali including documentation.
  • Knowledge of national and international context on thematic areas, i.e. Environmental condition and conservation, urbanization and its impact, climate change, air quality.
  • Knowledge and experience with policy analysis, research, advocacy, social accountability mechanisms, and gender equality and social inclusion.
  • Excellent knowledge of MS office Package.
  • Having a driving license for a motorbike or scooter will be an advantage.

Duties and Responsibilities

The key duty and responsibilities of the position will be as listed below.

  • Developing the strategic and operational plan of activities and proactively supervising its progress, resolving issues and initiating appropriate corrective actions.
  • ensuring effective quality assurance and the overall integrity of the project – focusing inwardly on the internal consistency of the project, and outwardly on its coherence with other
    projects, technical and standards.
  • Providing proper guidance and support on the updated and proven approaches/ techniques/ technologies to the project staffs for attainment of worthy output.
  •  managing the project budget on behalf of ENPHO, tracking expenditure and costs against delivered and realised benefits as the project progresses.
  •  ensuring the delivery of project activities to the appropriate level of quality, on time and within budget, in accordance with the project plan and project governance arrangement.
  •  Establishing good communications and coordination with all stakeholders including government, donors, partners and civil societies to maintain cordial relationship with all
    concerned.
  • Representing organization in relevant forum to share about project, its progress and achievement with evident in coordination with immediate supervisor.
  •  Managing both the dependencies and the interfaces between projects within organization.
  • managing risks to the project’s successful outcome.
  • Conducting overall monitoring and supervision of project activities and project staffs and providing necessary input to motivate project staffs, to improve work.
  •  Preparing and reporting to donors, partners and authorities on project and its objectives, activities, progresses, achievements in coordination with program director.
  •  Carrying out quarterly review of project and plan for the upcoming quarter.
  • Preparing and reporting the progress of the project at regular intervals to the immediate
    supervisor.

Assistant Project Officer – 3

Duty Station: ENPHO central office Kathmandu
Position reports to: Project Officer

A. Required Minimum qualifications and Skills:

  •  Bachelor’s degree in environmental science, Public Health, Social Science, or any other relevant field with minimum one year of work experience.
  •  Demonstrated ability to work effectively with a wide variety of stakeholders at municipal level.

  •  Good oral and writing skills on both English and Nepali including documentation.

Duties and Responsibilities

The key duties and responsibilities of the position will be listed below.

  • Assist in implementing project activities timely and efficiently in coordination with project team.
  • Conduct orientation to field enumerator for SFD survey at various municipalities.
  •  Manage data collected (entry, cleaning etc.) from field and handover for analysis.
  •  Conduct FGDs, KIIs required for necessary information and analysis.
  •  Conduct field visits as per the requirements of the projects.
  •  Mobilize and supervise community groups, social mobilizers, enumerators for effective implementation of project activities and provide necessary support as per requirement.
  •  Prepare SFD reports and other reports in coordination with supervisor.
  • Support to manage logistic to organize trainings/orientation/events effectively and efficiently.
  •  Conduct WASH promotional activities including community orientation, community mobilization, monitoring and follow up at local level.
  •  Assist immediate supervisor in documentation and reporting.
  •  Work closely with the team in developing and updating support materials such as IEC materials, reference materials and fact sheets.
  •  Support to prepare budget plan for execution of the project activities in coordination with supervisor.
  •  Identify and document case studies

Social Mobilizer – 10

Duty Station: Assigned municipality within Kathmandu valley with frequent visit to ENPHO.
Priorities will be given to candidates of working municipality.
Position reports to: Asst./Project Officer

Required minimum qualifications and skills:

  •  Bachelor’s Degree in, Social Science, or any other relevant field with a minimum of 2 years of work experience.
  • Proven ability to coordinate with government stakeholders as well as non- governmental organizations.
  • Knowledge of MS office Package.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to communicate clearly, effectively, and with cultural sensitivity in writing and verbally with local government, partners, civil society, and diverse groups of people.
  •  Having a driving license of a two-wheeler will be an advantage.

Duties and Responsibilities

The key duties and responsibilities of the position will be listed below.

  • The social mobilizer will support the project team to build coordination and facilitate communication at municipal level and community.
  •  Social mobilizers will be in close communication with the local government, local community, and CSO’s to promote their active participation in the project activities.
  • S/he will be providing community awareness programs for the project.
  • Handle official work requested by the project coordinator as required.
  • Keep daily record of the activities done in the project and produce written progress report of field activities on monthly basis and as required.
  • Document the field activities in given format and time.
  • Perform any other duties assigned by the supervisor.
