Officer – Finance & Accounts

Job Summary:
The Officer – Finance & Accounts will be responsible for ensuring the accurate recording of financial transactions, managing day-to-day financial activities, and assisting in financial reporting. The role involves handling accounts payable and receivable, preparing financial statements, supporting budgeting processes, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
Financial Management:
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records and ledgers.
- Ensure timely recording of all financial transactions in the accounting system.
- Reconcile bank accounts, credit card statements, and other financial records regularly.
Accounts Payable & Receivable:
- Process vendor invoices and ensure timely payments.
- Generate and send out invoices to clients and manage collections.
- Follow up on outstanding payments and manage the accounts receivable ledger.
- Verify and process employee expense claims and reimbursements.
Financial Reporting:
- Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
- Prepare financial statements such as balance sheets, profit & loss statements, and cash flow statements.
- Support in analyzing financial data and providing reports to senior management.
Budgeting & Forecasting:
- Assist in the preparation of the annual budget and periodic forecasts.
- Track expenses and revenues against the budget and report any variances.
- Provide financial insights to help in the decision-making process.
Compliance & Audits:
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards, tax regulations, and internal controls.
- Assist in the preparation and submission of statutory filings (tax returns, VAT, etc.).
- Support internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation and explanations.
Process Improvement:
- Continuously monitor and improve financial processes for efficiency and accuracy.
- Identify areas for cost-saving and operational efficiency.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
- Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in finance and accounting roles.
- Proficiency in financial software (e.g., Tally).
- Advanced MS Excel skills and experience with data analysis.
- Experience in preparing financial reports and managing audits.
