Officer – Finance & Accounts

Department: Finance & Accounts
Reports To: Finance Manager / Head of Finance
Location: Bakhundole Lalitpur
Employment Type: Full-time

Job Summary:
The Officer – Finance & Accounts will be responsible for ensuring the accurate recording of financial transactions, managing day-to-day financial activities, and assisting in financial reporting. The role involves handling accounts payable and receivable, preparing financial statements, supporting budgeting processes, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

Financial Management:

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records and ledgers.
  • Ensure timely recording of all financial transactions in the accounting system.
  • Reconcile bank accounts, credit card statements, and other financial records regularly.

Accounts Payable & Receivable:

  • Process vendor invoices and ensure timely payments.
  • Generate and send out invoices to clients and manage collections.
  • Follow up on outstanding payments and manage the accounts receivable ledger.
  • Verify and process employee expense claims and reimbursements.

Financial Reporting:

  • Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
  • Prepare financial statements such as balance sheets, profit & loss statements, and cash flow statements.
  • Support in analyzing financial data and providing reports to senior management.

Budgeting & Forecasting:

  • Assist in the preparation of the annual budget and periodic forecasts.
  • Track expenses and revenues against the budget and report any variances.
  • Provide financial insights to help in the decision-making process.

Compliance & Audits:

  • Ensure compliance with accounting standards, tax regulations, and internal controls.
  • Assist in the preparation and submission of statutory filings (tax returns, VAT, etc.).
  • Support internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation and explanations.

Process Improvement:

  • Continuously monitor and improve financial processes for efficiency and accuracy.
  • Identify areas for cost-saving and operational efficiency.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in finance and accounting roles.
  • Proficiency in financial software (e.g., Tally).
  • Advanced MS Excel skills and experience with data analysis.
  • Experience in preparing financial reports and managing audits.
