Program Officer
Hamro Palo is seeking a passionate and experienced Program Officer to lead and manage our Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR) and Mental well-being Project. This role involves planning, executing, and monitoring project activities aimed at improving SRHR and mental well-being outcomes among adolescents in Nepal. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in public health, social science, gender studies, or a related field, with a commitment to promoting gender equality and empowering young women and girls.
Station: Kathmandu, with frequent travel to project sites outside the valley.
Duration: 1-year contract
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and oversee the successful execution of the SRHR and Mental well-being project, ensuring alignment with project goals and objectives.
- Coordinate and collaborate with a diverse range of stakeholders, including government agencies, local communities, healthcare providers, and other formal and informal groups.
- Develop detailed work plans and timelines to ensure efficient and timely project implementation.
- Engage with schools, communities, and adolescents to organize and facilitate workshops, training sessions, and community outreach programs that promote
- SRHR and mental well-being awareness.
- Design and implement monitoring and evaluation (M&E) frameworks to assess the effectiveness and impact of project interventions.
- Prepare comprehensive project reports, case studies, and success stories for stakeholders, highlighting key achievements and learnings.
- Ensure proper documentation of all project activities, training materials, and feedback from participants for future reference and knowledge sharing.
Qualifications:
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Public Health, Social Work, Psychology, Social Science, Education, Gender Studies, or a related field.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in project management, with a focus on SRHR, mental well-being, or gender-based programs.
- Strong understanding of SRHR issues, mental well-being challenges, and gender dynamics in the context of Nepal.
- Related training and short courses will be an added advantage.
Desired Skills and Competencies:
- Proficiency in both Nepali and English languages.
- Ability to deliver engaging presentations and possess essential IT skills.
- Proven skills in problem-solving and negotiation to address challenges and ensure smooth collaboration.
- Strong organizational and planning skills to efficiently manage tasks, timelines, and resources.
- Exceptional time management skills and the ability to multitask efficiently in a dynamic work environment.
- Strong personal commitment to continuous learning and improvement of knowledge and skills.
- Flexibility in understanding and integrating gender, diversity, and inclusion perspectives into training and development planning and delivery.
