This position will be based in Doti.
Responsibilities:
Program Management: (60%)
- Lead overall UTTHANSHIL Project for successful implementation in the field
- Ensure partners performance is on track ensuring that program activities are on time, on budget, and reach desired impacts with high quality, coherent results.
- Maintain coordination, linkage and networking with line agencies at province, district municipalities.
- Provide all technical guidance to the partners and their staff as agreed in the proposal and annexes.
- Work as technical lead of the project and provide necessary training and orientation to the partner staffs and other agencies as necessary in the field.
- Ensure that partner CDC’s staff of UTTHANSHIL Project participate in regular program coordination meetings, and that effective and timely program/grant reporting systems are maintained.
- Ensure that program teams comply with LWR, and donors require monitoring and evaluation frameworks and establish ongoing program monitoring.
- Support and facilitate at the field level for evaluation, assessment, survey, innovative solutions, monitoring visits for ensuring the high-level impactful
- programing in the field.
Partner Management: (10%)
- Maintain and liaise cordial coordination, communication and collaboration with local government stakeholders at provincial, districts and municipalities, NGOs and INGOs peer agencies and local partners.
- Guide and support CDC partner where needed – technical and management for the successful implementation of the project
- Obtain necessary permission, authentication from the province, districts and municipalities as required.
- Provide all necessary orientation, coaching and training to Project Coordinator, DRR Officer, social mobilizer and others for successful implementation of the project in the field.
- Support partner (CDC) where needed and guide, coach and mentor properly and timely including in program and financial reporting.
Field Influence and Representation:( 5%)
- Represents LWR Nepal in the field with peer agencies, donors, private sectors, province government stakeholders and concerned municipalities.
- Maintain high ethical standards and treat people with respect and dignity throughout engagement with internal and external stakeholders.
- Build strong relationships among Corus’s headquarters and regional teams, international and local NGOs, government officials, donors, and local partners etc.
- Demonstrate flexibility, resilience and ability to maintain positive relationships and composure.
Monitoring, Evaluation, and Reporting: (10%)
- Ensure the all the activities are implemented and monitored as per the UTTHANSHIL Project Performance Plan (PMP)
- Conduct day to day project monitoring and provide immediate feedback and inputs to the CDC field staff for the improvement
- Help and support on baseline, midline, end line, assessment, and surveys and maintain the quality data and evidence.
- Update and maintain the Activity Tacking Table (ATT), Beneficiaries Tracking Table (BTT) and Indicator Tracking Table (ITT)
- Prepare monitoring report against PMP on six monthly and share with CDC partner and LWR Nepal office that should include project achievements, challenges and lessons learned
Reporting and Communication (10%)
- Prepare high quality narrative and financial report on periodic basis and share on timely basis to the program Director.
- Review and provide the partner’s narrative and financial report and provide constructive feedback and input to the partner.
- Monitor and prepare all deliverable reports as agreed in the agreement with donor; and report back to the LWR Nepal office
- Maintain the communication channel with local government stakeholder, CDC, Doti (implementing partner) and LWR Nepal office.
- Prepare and draft other reports as suggested by Program Director or CDOthers: (5%)
- Help and support to Program Director for intelligence gathering about new project design.
- Communicate all project issues and matters (success and failure) with Program Director on overall project management including admin and finance issues.
- Follow the instructions and suggestions from the Program Director for any field level final decisions.
Supervisory:
No supervisory role.
Education & Experience:
- Master’s degree in social science or business studies or agriculture or natural management or environment
- At least five years of experience in the field of DRR, Resilience, Climate Change or Agriculture/livelihoods, youth and women entrepreneurship
- Previous USAID/BHA funded experiences on DRR, and resilience is preferable.
- Prior experience of working in an NGO/INGO sector will be an added advantage
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Demonstrates excellent proficiency in English, both written and verbal.
- Proficiency with Microsoft office (Outlook, Word, Excel, and Power Point)
- Strong report writing skills
- Willingness and capability to frequently travel to various field sites within the specified districts.
- Must possess positive and problem solving attitude
- Must be highly organized, dependable, and capable of managing multiple tasks effectively.
- Displays a hardworking, committed, and energetic approach, with a team-oriented “can-do” attitude.
- Demonstrates strong skills in project management, partner monitoring and evaluation, networking, and communication with government agencies and relevant stakeholders.
