Summary: The U.S. Mission in Kathmandu, Nepal is seeking eligible and qualified applicants for the position of Voucher Examiner/Alternate Cashier. This vacancy is open to all interested applicants.


The work schedule for this position is: Full Time (40 hours per week)


Start date: Candidate must be able to begin working within a reasonable period of time of receipt of agency authorization and/or clearances/certifications or their candidacy may end.

Duties


The incumbent serves as a Voucher Examiner and performs a full range of vouchering work for all types of vouchers; serves as an Alternate Cashier B cashier and performs full range of cashiering jobs during principal cashier’s absence; prepares a complete set of invoices and supporting documents and submits to the Post Support Unit (PSU) for payment process. The incumbent serves as POC for official VAT reimbursement for Department of State and USAID and also for personal VAT reimbursement for USDH personnel. The incumbent ensures that invoices are correct for VAT reimbursement claim and prepares detail list of eligible tax invoice for VAT reimbursement and submits to the Consular Department in Foreign Ministry and Inland Revenue Department for further processing.


Qualifications and Evaluations


Requirements:


EXPERIENCE: At least two years of progressively responsible experience in VAT reimbursement process, voucher examining, bookkeeping, accounting, or auditing is required.


JOB KNOWLEDGE: Good working knowledge of voucher examining process, invoice auditing and voucher preparation for payment is required. General knowledge on Nepal Government’s VAT policy is required.


Education Requirements:


Successful completion of two years of university studies is required.

LANGUAGE: Fluent speaking/reading/writing English is required. Fluent speaking/reading/writing Nepali is required.

SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Ability to use MS office applications such as MS Word, Excel, Outlook, Power Point etc. is required. Strong mathematical skills are required. Good time management and electronic records control skills are required.
