Women’s Rehabilitation Centre (WOREC) is a national level NGO working for women’s human rights and to ensure women empowerment through protection and promotion of human rights and social justice focusing on campaigns against violence against women, and women’s economic, social and cultural rights nation-wide. Our working districts with offices are spread over Morang, Sunsari, Udayapur, Dhanusha, Mahottari, Sarlahi, Dang, Kailali, Rukum and additional working districts are Rupandehi, Kapilvastu, Kanchanpur, Jagarkot, Kathmandu, Bhaktapur, Kavrepalanchok and Saptari district. The Central Office is located in Lalitpur.

Project Coordinator – 1

Job location: Based in Kathmandu extensive travel to Sarlahi, Mahottari and Dhanusha, Dang and Kailali districts.

The Project Coordinator will be responsible for the overall management, coordination, and implementation of the project aimed at empowering women and youth leaders, advocating for rights to mobility, decent work, and social security, enhancing resilience to climate change, and generating knowledge for advocacy. The Coordinator will ensure that project activities are implemented effectively, in line with the project objectives, and within the allocated budget and timeframe.

1. Key Responsibilities

  1. Lead and coordinate the implementation of all project activities across specified provinces, ensuring alignment with project goals and objectives.
  2. Develop and maintain detailed project plans, schedules, and budgets, ensuring efficient resource allocation and adherence to timelines.
  3. Ensure effective communication and coordination among project staff, district offices, and stakeholders to promote collaboration and information sharing.
  4.  Organize and facilitate regular meetings to review progress, address challenges, and plan upcoming activities, ensuring transparent and proactive project management.
  5.  Ensure the effective implementation of skill training on bio-intensive farming, improved livestock farming, and market linkage for women farmers, enhancing their productivity and economic opportunities.
  6. Ensure compliance with all regulatory, financial, and organizational requirements, maintaining high standards of accountability and transparency.
  7. Monitor and evaluate project progress, providing regular reports and updates to stakeholders, and making adjustments as necessary to ensure project success.
  8. Identify and mitigate risks associated with project activities, ensuring continuity and minimizing disruptions.
  9. Engage with local, national, and international stakeholders to promote policy changes and systemic reforms.
  10. Oversee the collection and documentation of community experiences, stories, and case studies.
  11. Establish and maintain strong relationships with local communities, government officials, CSOs, and international networks.
  12. Represent WOREC in relevant forums, networks, and meetings to promote project objectives and share best practices.
  13.  Coordinate with community-based organizations, women and girls’ networks, women human rights defenders (W/HRDs), and civil society organizations (CSOs) to build alliances and lead campaigns promoting women’s empowerment and gender equality.
  14. 2. Qualifications and Experience: The candidate must possess a master’s degree in Social Sciences, Development Studies, Gender Studies, Agricultural Science, or a related field. A minimum of 3 years of experience in project management within the domains of human rights, social justice, or agriculture is required. The candidate should demonstrate proven experience in advocacy, policy engagement, and capacity-building initiatives. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills are essential. Proficiency in project management software and tools is necessary. The role requires the ability to travel frequently to project sites across the specified provinces.

3. Skills and Abilities: The candidate should exhibit strong project planning, coordination, and organizational skills. The ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines is crucial. Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities are required. The candidate must have effective stakeholder engagement and networking skills. A high level of cultural sensitivity and adaptability is important. Proficiency in English and Nepali is required, and knowledge of local languages is an asset. The role also demands effective communication, computer-based report writing, and resource management skills.
