Summary:

The U.S. Mission in Kathmandu is seeking eligible and qualified applicants for the position of Truck Driver. This vacancy is open to all interested applicants.

The work schedule for this position is Full Time (40 hours per week).

Start date: Candidate must be able to begin working within a reasonable period of time of receipt of agency authorization and/or clearances/certifications or their candidacy may end.

Duties

The incumbent is responsible for safely and efficiently operating U.S. Government-owned trucks for delivery of water and fuel to U.S. Mission offices, residential properties, and other locations. The incumbent ensures correct water/fuel level is available from the source and performs pump operation for loading into the trucks. The incumbent is responsible for recordkeeping of all delivery details and reporting of any safety hazards or any other issues that could impact safe delivery. The incumbent performs basic automotive repair tasks like changing tires and performs other necessary tasks to keep the truck in good working condition. Performs escorts duties for local contractors as required. Performs other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Qualifications and Evaluations

Requirements:

Experience: Minimum two years of experience in driving a heavy vehicle or truck is required.

Job Knowledge: Good knowledge of local traffic rules and regulations is required. A good knowledge of Kathmandu and its surrounding areas is required.

Education Requirements: Completion of Primary School is required.

EvaluationsThese may be tested (Language, Skills and Abilities).

LANGUAGE: Limited Knowledge Speaking/Reading/Writing English is required. Good Working Knowledge Speaking/Reading/Writing Nepali language is required.

SKILLS AND ABILITIES: The ability to diagnose and handle preventive maintenance is required. Valid local driver’s Class B and G license is required.

Qualifications:
