Program Officer – AMR Secretariat

The Program Officer will be responsible for activities related to supporting and coordinating with different stakeholders for Antimicrobial Resistance (AMR)/Antimicrobial Use (AMU)/ Antimicrobial Consumption (AMC) surveillance and support Antimicrobial Resistance Multi-sectoral Steering Committee (AMRMSC) secretariat at Quality Standards and Regulatory Division (QSRD), Ministry of Health and Population (MoHP) for AMR/AMU/AMC on data collation, analysis and visualization and related activities to strengthen AMR secretariat.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide logistic management and technical support to conduct Antimicrobial Resistance Multisectoral Steering Committee (AMRMSC), National Technical Working Committee (NTWC), AMR Technical working Groups (TWGs) meetings.
  • Coordinate, liaise and support different departments/focal points under different Ministries on AMU/AMC/AMR activities.
  • Coordinate with different AMR surveillance sites and sectors for AMR data and program.
  • Coordinate in creating and updating documentation repository, contact matrix, and related documents.
  • Support in preparation of training/workshop and meeting presentation, documents, reports, proceeding, and monthly updates.
  • Provide support to Government to prepare and visualize AMR/AMU/AMC-related data, analysis and report.
  • Support on AMR/AMU/AMC data base, preparation of dashboard and data collation/analysis from all sectors.
  • Any additional activities identified during discussion and requested by Government or Fleming Fund Country Grant for Nepal (FFCGN).

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in biostatistics, public health, or other relevant subjects with three to five years of experience or master’s degree with one to three years of experience in the above-mentioned field
  • Previous work experience with government or national and international non-government organizations preferable in public health, data, documentation and communication.
  • Previous work on AMR/AMU/AMC or one health related activity.
  • Experience in preparing reports, presentations, meeting notes and other documentation.
  • Proactive in managing multiple tasks, managing, and working in the virtual work environment, and flexible and open to managing time for working with different teams in different time zones as needed.
  • Excellent interpersonal, organizational, communication, team building and management, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent oral and written English and Nepali including documentation skills.
