Aasaman Nepal is going to implement SRHR and Gender equality/women empowerment including ending child marriage and harmful practices Programs in Madhesh Province, in the partnership with UNFPA(Proposed). The overarching objectives of the programs are to enhance reproductive health outcomes, eliminate gender-based violence, empower women economically and socially, and reduce child marriage. The integrated approach aims to provide comprehensive reproductive health services, promote gender equity, facilitate women’s economic empowerment through skill development and entrepreneurship, and contribute to the global effort of ending child marriage. These programs collectively strive to create a society where individuals, particularly women and adolescents, have the knowledge, resources, and opportunities to make informed decisions about their health, well-being, and future.
Aasaman Nepal is looking for the self-motivated, result oriented and hard-working Nepali citizen for the following position:
MEAL Officer – (Nos -2)
Location: Rauthat and Sarlahi
Position Type: Full-time
Overview:
The MEAL Officer will be pivotal in ensuring the project’s effective execution, monitoring, and documentation, as well as offering evidence-based support to the MEAL coordinator and thematic leads for program planning. In this role, S/he will devise and implement monitoring and evaluation frameworks, conduct assessments, and meticulously document project activities and outcomes with supporting evidence. Additionally, the Officer will support Program officers
in maintaining program data and reports, prepare templates, and manage the effective recording and reporting of disaggregated data.
Proficiency in statistical software, including MS Excel, SPSS, DHS2, and other relevant tools, is essential for this role. They will also be responsible for preparing high-quality narrative and quantitative reports, collaborating closely with project partners, local communities, and stakeholders to ensure alignment with project objectives and compliance with UNFPA’s quality standards.
Responsibilities:
1. Quality Management of Program Data:
- Establish and maintain systems for collecting, managing, and analyzing program data.
- Ensure accuracy, completeness, and consistency of program data.
- Implement quality control measures to enhance the reliability of collected data.
2. Analytical Data Presentation:
- Utilize strong analytical skills to present program data in a clear and concise manner.
- Prepare reports and visualizations highlighting key insights and trends.
- Provide evidence-based recommendations for program improvement.
3. Support to MEAL coordinator and Thematic Leads:
- Offer evidence-based support to the Program Manager and thematic leads for effective program planning.
- Contribute to data-driven decision-making processes within the organization.
- Collaborate with thematic leads to align monitoring and evaluation activities with program goals.
4. Support to Program Officers:
- Support Program Officers in maintaining accurate program data.
- Provide training and resources to enhance the team’s data management skills.
- Ensure adherence to data management protocols and standards.
5. Template Preparation and Program Guidance:
- Develop and maintain templates for data collection and reporting.
- Provide guidance to the program team on effective use of templates and data management tools.
- Collaborate with relevant stakeholders to improve the efficiency of data collection processes.
6. Statistical Software Proficiency:
- Demonstrate a strong command in MS Excel, SPSS, DHS2, and other relevant statistical software.
- Utilize statistical software for data analysis and interpretation.
- Stay updated on advancements in statistical tools and methodologies.
7. Recording and Reporting of Disaggregated Data:
- Effectively manage the recording and reporting of disaggregated data.
- Ensure compliance with privacy and confidentiality standards when handling disaggregated data.
- Promote inclusivity and address disparities through the use of disaggregated data.
8. Narrative and Quantitative Report Preparation:
- Prepare high-quality narrative and quantitative reports.
- Ensure reports meet organizational standards and donor requirements.
- Collaborate with relevant stakeholders to incorporate feedback into reports.
Qualification:
- Bachelor’s degree in public health (BPH) from recognized university
- At least 3 years of relevant Proven experience as a MEAL Officer or in a similar role.
- Strong proficiency in data management and analysis.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in MS Excel, SPSS, DHS2, and other relevant statistical software.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.

- Show cultural awareness and effective communication skills, along with a willingness to undertake field visits as necessary.
Languages: Strong command of Nepali, English, Maithili, Bhojpuri (oral and written) and local language preferred/required.
