Aasaman Nepal is implementing The Commercial Agriculture for Smallholders and Agribusiness (CASA) Programme is funded by the UK Government through the Department for International Development (DFID). DFID have contracted the NIRAS consortium to manage the DFID CASA Programme on its behalf. As part of the NIRAS consortium, Swisscontact manages and implements the CASA programmes in Nepal. To further support implementation activities, Swisscontact has contracted the implementation of IP activities to Facilitate Improved Access to Business Development Services, Finance, and Investments to a local fund manager ‘Aasaman Nepal’. The Programme aims to increase sustainable investment in agribusinesses with smallholder supply chains and increase the involvement of poorer smallholders in these supply chains, with demonstrably higher incomes.

Finance Officer- One (Kathmandu)

Job Description:

  •  Ensure that adequate financial controls are in place to maintain propriety and proper accountability of expenditures;
  • Record the financial transactions and ensure that are authorized and have adequate supporting documentation, filled, maintained and can be easily extracted for the purpose of preparing financial statements; and financial audits
  • Prepare consolidated financial reports and statement as per requirement of donor and management and submit to Finance Manager
  •  Regular Financial monitoring and Capacity building of partner organizations
  • Monitor budgets of partner organization and expenditures and contribute to preparation of budget revision
  • Timely and accurate recording of all financial transactions in line with organizational and donor requirements and processing supplier invoices.
  •  Preparation of BRS and petty cash day book and report for any variances;
  • Maintain consolidated register of capital assets and durable goods;
  •  Prepare monthly payroll and quarterly reconciliation with the report;
  • Maintain HR records, including staff lists, staff files, time sheet and the leave register;
  • Ensure timely deposit of TDS and CIT/PF and E filing of TDS as per provision of Income Tax Act is done in time.
  • Ensure that staff insurance is done and are renewed in time
  • Check and ensure that all procurement process and expenditures of the project in accordance with the Donor procedure and organization procedure
  • Support for development in the strong internal control system to safeguard the assets of the organization and optimum utilization of resources
  • Support for conducting project audit, internal audit and statutory audit.
  •  Documentation/Filing and indexing of the all accounts records in an orderly manner including district records
  • Carry out any other administrative/financial assignments as requested by the organization
  • Conduct in a manner that is consistent with the values and principles of the Aasaman Nepal
  •  Follow the code of conduct of Aasaman Nepal inside and outside the work place.
  •  Candidate must fully understand and agree to abide by the safeguarding principles with regards to children and adults they come in contact through their work.
  •  Other duties as assigned

Qualification and required skills:

Bachelor’s degree in Business administration or in a related field with proven work experience in financial and administrative management. Computer skills, Excellent analytical skills, Good interpersonal, communication skills and organizational skills.

Languages: Strong command of Nepali, English (oral and written).
