Field Mobilizer

Center for Dalit Women Nepal is a national-level non-governmental organization dedicated to the political, social, and economic empowerment of Dalits, women, and marginalized groups in Nepal. CDWN was founded by a group of Dalit women social activists and political leaders in 2016. The organization has been contributing to “A society free from caste and gender discrimination” by fulfilling the mission to “Support creation of enabling environment for Dalit and marginalized women’s participation in public life”.

Center for Dalit Women Nepal calls for applications for the position of “Field Mobilizer” for the Project “She Leads”. The overall goal of the project is to strengthen the capacity and leadership of Elected Women Representatives (EWRs) for their meaningful political participation. The project is being implemented in Khotang, Okhaldhunga, Sunsari, Morang, and Jhapa of Province 1.

Duty Station: Okhaldhunga and Khotang

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Assist the District Coordinator in accomplishing the project activities as assigned in respective districts within the stipulated time.
  • Coordinate with the local government stakeholders for conducting training, meetings, and dialogues in the project areas.
  • Ensure proper and timely implementation of the project activities.
  •  Collect and prepare project-relevant data, and success stories from the beneficiaries as and when necessary.
  •  Arrange logistics and other administrative management required for project activities with support from the District Coordinator.
  • Undertake regular project monitoring to project areas to ensure alignment of project activities with planned targets and flag issues to the Project Team via the District Coordinator on a regular basis.
  • Assist the District Coordinator in producing periodic reports and documenting best practices and lessons learned.
  • Execute other tasks as requested and assigned by the CDWN.

Educational Requirement and Experience:

  • Intermediate or +2 level or any other equivalent in any academic stream with at least 2 years of professional experience preferably in an NGO/INGO setting in a similar position.

Required Skills and Abilities:

  • Strong presentation and facilitation skills
  • Strong command of written and verbal Nepali language and command of English desirable
  • Good knowledge of the federal system and the Local Governance Act
  • Ability to multitask and work in a team
  • Excellent time management skills and ability to work efficiently under pressure
  • Willing and able to travel to the project implementation area
  • Having a 2-wheeler license would be an added advantage
