Project Coordinator – Skill Up!* in Surkhet
The position is to be filled as soon as possible, with an initial contract duration of one year. There are very good prospects for an extension. Employment location will be Surkhet, Nepal. The position is paid according to paygrade.
The objective of the position is to manage the project field activities as well as monitoring of partner organization in the field. The position will ensure that the actvities are implemented as per the “detail implementation plan” and learnings are documented on periodic basis. The position will also prepare the first draft of all project reports to send to the country office for further fine-tuning.
Your responsibilities
- Support and work closely with partner organisations in the improvement of project cycle management for WHH emergency and development projects: improved identification and assessment, project formulation and planning, implementation and monitoring, reporting and evaluation.
- Coach and train the partner organisation on improved project planning, implementation and monitoring, on reporting requirements and on identification of challenges and risk in time. Provide constructive and pro-active feedback on project implementation and project management.
- Advise the partner organisation on compliance standards and policies of WHH and donors including financial, procurement, logistic policies and the application of these policies and standards.
- Ensure an understanding of the NGO Partnership agreement as signed between WHH and the partner organisation and the requirements and obligations related to that NPA.
- Advise and train the partner organisation on an understanding and application of the Code of Conduct, the Core Humanitarian Standards, Data Protection rules and other standards of relevance and as identified by the Country Office.
- Ensure the integration of good governance, Right-Based Approaches and GESI in the project cycle.
- Assess the needs of the partner for capacity building or technical training and offer or advise on specific trainings in coordination with the project team.
- Ensure overall budget monitoring, regular updates of expenditure planning, provide explanations on deviations of actual versus projected expenses, prepare fund requests and financial reporting of quality and in time.
Your profile
- At least 3 years of experience working in vocational training sector
- At least 2 years of experience of implementing/ managing projects in partnership with local partner NGOs
- Minimum 2 years of experience of handling budgets
- Experience of managing staffs (direct and partner staffs).
- At least having Bachelor’s degree of any discipline.
