Helen Keller International is an International non-profit organization (INGO) working in health and nutrition in Nepal since 1989 to improve the nutritional status of women and young children through evidence-based research and programs. Helen Keller International, CARE, FHI 360, Nepali Technical Assistance Group (NTAG), Digital Broadcast Initiative Equal Access (DBIEA), Environment and Public Health Organization (ENPHO), Vijaya Development Resource Center (VDRC) together are implementing USAID funded Suaahara II Program in 42 districts. Applications are invited from interested, committed, dynamic team players and experienced Nepali nationals for the following positions:

Homestead Food Production (HFP) Trainee – (Nuwakot and Kapilvastu districts) 1 each (8 months)

Summary of Job Purpose: This position will be responsible to assist Suaahara II district team in ensuring completion of IR3 (Intermediate Result 3) related activities as per year 6 workplan in close coordination with PNGO team; assist field team to quality implement and report community level activities-HFP (Homestead Food Production) group meeting, HFP group registration and leveraging government resources, follow up VMFs (Village Model Farmers) and LRPs (Local Resource Persons) including local government linkages supports; support in promotion of digital agriculture extension services-Mobile application (Krishi Guru), Social- media (Facebook,/ messengers) and text SMS; support in documentation of case studies and success stories about climate smart agricultural practices, women empowerment and income generation, VMF approach, HFP sustainability etc.; participate in project activities (meeting, workshop) as appropriate suggested by Suaahara to understand development works and dissemination works; and complete technical tasks that have been assigned by program team.

Educational qualifications and experiences: B.SC in Agriculture; data collection experiences if any (will be given priority); willing to work in the multi-dimensional environment with the professionals from various sectors; good skill in written and verbal communication in English, Nepali and local language; good Skill to work effectively in a highly collaborative team approach; ability to learn on the job and willingness to accept; good time management skill and be able to deliver in minimum supervision; proficiency in Computer operating skills i.e. MS office, Excel, and email internet.


Nutrition and Health Trainee – Surkhet and Salyan districts 1 each
(8 months)

Summary of Job Purpose: This position will be responsible to assist Suaahara II district team in ensuring Nutrition and Health related activities as per year 6 workplan in close coordination with PNGO team; assist field team (FC, MNF, CNF) to accomplish the field level activities in time with quality; documentation (compilation of the event reports received from the field and community) of the accomplishment and case and success stories under IR 1.1 and 2 activities.; assist to Nutrition and health Officers in preparation of case and success story collection and preparation of health and nutrition; assist to Nutrition and health Officers to conduct Municipality and community level different training and workshop; support in the conduction of the district and Municipality level events (workshops, trainings, and meetings) and produce reports; visit field and support and backstopping to the field staff as required and perform as assigned by the mentor/supervisor; support to Sr. PC/Sr. TC and N&HO in collect information and prepare monthly, quarterly, and semiannual and annual progress report; complete technical tasks that have been assigned by program team.

Educational qualifications and experiences: Bachelor’s in public health or Nursing; willing to work in the multi-dimensional environment with the professionals from various sectors; good skill in written and verbal communication in English, Nepali and local language; good Skill to work effectively in a highly collaborative team approach; ability to learn on the job and willingness to accept; good time management skill and be able to deliver in minimum supervision.; proficiency in Computer operating skills i.e. MS office, Excel, and email internet.


Multisector Governance Trainee – Banke district 1 each (8 months)

Summary of Job Purpose: This position will be responsible to support the team in updating governance related program documents; provide support in planning for meetings, orientations, and workshops, collecting and analyzing related data and information; support in documenting activities, outcomes and lesson learned from events and other capacity building efforts; support the team establish communication and coordination with partner NGO, municipality, and ward level stakeholders; initiating MNF/ CNFs engagement and capacity building activities to increase effectiveness in implementation Assisting the team, giving inputs in preparing effective Quality Assurance tools to ensure program activities are well implemented as per prescribed implementation guideline; participating in Municipal and Ward level NFSSC meetings, reviews of sustainability workshops and providing, analytical techniques to identify gaps, issues, and challenges in implementing nutrition programming; provide support in updating and reporting of data related to governance activities in DHIS2, Tri Net and sharing of Suaahara II learning and data to available platforms at the district levels; other relevant duties as assigned by Sr. Program Coordinator.

Educational qualifications and experiences: Bachelor’s degree in public health, rural development, or social science; willing to work in the multi-dimensional environment with the professionals from various sectors; good skill in written and verbal communication in English, Nepali and local language; proficiency in Computer operating skills i.e. MS office, Excel, and email internet; good communication and interpersonal skills; ability to work under pressure and to manage competing priorities.
