Background:
Under
the overall guidance of Operation Lead -Sub Unit, DMK, technical guidance of
Livelihood Program Coordinator and direct supervision of Project Officer
-Livelihood and Market, the Project Associate-Livelihood and Market
(PA-Livelihood & Market) will be responsible to assist and implement livelihood
and market component of LWF Nepal’s Humanitarian Project in eastern Nepal
following LWF and support agencies strategies, policies, guidelines and plans
(PPA). PO-Livelihood & Market shall also work closely with project sector
leads, LWF Nepal thematic program leaders and functional heads and successfully
carry out following tasks:
General:
·
Familiarize
with human rights guaranteed by Nepal constitutions, laws and bylaws and
international legal instruments (conventions and covenants and guiding principles
focusing refugees and asylum seekers)
·
Familiarize
and work in accordance with the Vision, Mission, Values, Principles, and
Objectives of LWF Nepal as Humanitarian and Development Organization
·
Familiarize
with and obey LWF and support Agencies Data Protection Policy
·
Be
free from the political influence of any parties and the political activities
·
Strictly
abide by the LWF Nepal Code of Conduct, PSEAH, Code of Ethics, Child Protection
Policy, Complaint Response Mechanism etc.
·
Support
to lobby and advocacy with federal, provincial and local governments; and
humanitarian and development partners to include venerable communities in
sectoral program, plan and policy provisions
Specific:
Management
and Operation
·
Familiarize

Ensure
that the beneficiaries are well aware of the design and process of livelihoods
programs.
·
Assist
in writing project proposals.
Technical
support
·
Conduct
various capacity building trainings, workshops and meetings including regular
livelihood technical support to the income generation activities conducted by
the refugee and host community people in eastern Nepal
·
Provide
technical support to on/off farm livelihoods interventions agriculture,
livestock, and farm based enterprise as required for their market linkage and
expansion for its sustainability
·
Train
and develop business plan of each livelihood interventions and contribute for
its linkage withlocal government and sustainability
·
Facilitate
targeted community and groups for their institutional development, enterprise
promotion, value chain development and marketing
·
Establish
functional relation with other stakeholders at the camps and local government
with appropriate coordination for smooth operation of program activities
·
Assist
in establishing a close working relationship with the relevant authorities,
link the entrepreneur groups/cooperatives, markets with related local
organizations/stakeholders for the sustainability of livelihood program
·
Assist
Community Based Organizations at the camps and provide technical support for
fund raising for their self-reliant
·
Assist
in preparing livelihood strategy, project concept, and detail implementation
plan and project performance report.
Planning,
monitoring, documentation and reporting
·
Assist
to assess the changed context and prepare annual/periodic plan and budget for
enterprise and employment generation program components
·
Carry
out systemic monitoring of livelihood and market intervention in line with
sectoral objective and outputs following agreed performance indicator
·
Maintain
records and data as per donor compliance and requirement of the project
focusing livelihood program and suggest ways forward for challenges and any
issues pertaining to the self-reliance of refugee communities
·
Prepare
and submit event, weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual reports following
donor/support organizations requirement
Other
·
Represent
donor/support agency meetings as needed and recommended by her/his supervisors
·
Represent
LWF Nepal in AIN Livelihood working group, food security cluster and other
Livelihood related networks as and when advised
·
Carry
out other duties assigned/requested by the PO-Livelihood and Market and his/her
designated
Required
Qualification, Skills and Competencies:
·
Intermediate
or Plus Two in Agriculture, Livestock, Business Management, or related academic
discipline
·
Minimum
2years of professional experience-working on Livelihood and Market Management
·
Knowledge
on Market, Value-chain, enterprise and entrepreneurship development
·
Knowledge
and experiences on Program Cycle Management, institutional capacity development
·
Skills
on data management, information collection, documentation and its presentation
·
Skills
on developing linkages with market actors and Local Governments and their
related agencies for collaboration
·
Ability
to work under minimal supervision, willingness to take multiple
responsibilities with tight deadlines and can accept flexibility in working
hours
·
Proficient
basic computer skill including MS Word, Excel, email/internet navigation
·
Valid
driving license of tow wheeler
·
Proficiency
in written and spoken English
·
Good
interpersonal communication and networking skills
·
High
level of organizational integrity with positive attitude.
