Vacancy Announcement for Finance officer
The
Lutheran World Federation (LWF) Nepal is an international, non-governmental
humanitarian and development organization that has been working in Nepal since
1984 focusing on Sustainable Livelihood, Quality Services and Protection and
Social Cohesion. The LWF Nepal requires that everybody associated with it abide

The Lutheran World Federation Nepal invites applications from all
potential Nepali candidates for the following position.
Position: Finance Officer – 1 position (For
Female only)

Background
The
Finance Officer Shall be responsible to carry out a range of activities on Finance
and Accounts management as specified below in the specific and general
headings. She/he shall be directly responsible to the Finance and Admin Manager
(FAM) of LWF Nepal or her/his designate. She/he shall adhere to the principles
of LWF Nepal and shall follow them in thoughts, words and deeds.
General:
1.Familiarize
and work in accordance with the Vision, Mission, Overall Goals and Objectives
of LWF as a Humanitarian and Development Organization.
2.Familiarize and work in accordance with the established strategies of LWF
Nepal.
3.Familiarize and work accordance with the LWF Nepal policies.
4.Be free from the political influence of any parties and the political
activates.
Specific:
1.Prepare
the vouchers for transactions, document the require supporting, post the
transaction into the accounting system.
2.Ensure appropriate budget codes and chart of accounts developed as per the
approved work plan
3.Check all bills/supporting documents and vouchers to process for payments
according to the budget codes.
4.Prepare monthly, quarterly, annual as well as other finance reports as per
the reporting requirements of donor partners and submit to Finance Manager for
his/her review and upward submission.
5.Monitor the periodic expenditure, budget analysis and make recommendation for
necessary adjustment where essential.
6.Ensure proper use of data processing software (SAGE) and produce report.
7.Responsible for managing cash flow that includes: preparation of cash flow in
coordination with Provincial Finance Officers and submit to FAM for his/her
review and upward submission.
8.Ensure full implementation of LWF finance manual and other relevant policies
of LWF.
9.Facilitate in the monthly salary payments, including the managements of staff
retirement benefit (CIT, PF, Gratuity) deposit and salary income tax
computation.
10.Facilitate in monthly e-TDS deposit of advance tax deduction of the staff
and vendors.
11.Preparation of bank reconciliation statement on a monthly basis.
12.Collection and verification of the statements along with the supporting
documents submitted by the implementing partners.
13.Transfer funds to partner as per the approved request in a monthly basis.
14.Maintain petty cash and make payments and ensure the cash is always
accurate.
15.Assist various internal and external audit and facilitate to finalize
management letter.
16.Represent LWF in a professional manner.
17.Strictly abide by the LWF Nepal Code of Conduct and Code of Ethics.
18.Provide bank balance information to the FAM on weekly basis.
19.Manage to deposit TDS amount in the Inland Revenue office on time.
20.To be active and pro-active in resource mobilization especially funds
raising for and proper resource utilization in LWF-Nepal.
21.Any other assignment as required by LWF Nepal Management.
Required
Qualification, Skills and Competencies:
At
least Bachelors’ Degree in Business Studies with Finance major or any other
equivalent relevant academic discipline.
•Minimum 3years of professional experience-working on financial management in
I/NGO.
•Ability to work effectively in a team.
•Good interpersonal and official communication, email and internet skills with
learning attitude.
•Knowledge on institutional development and capacity building, skills of proper
documentation of financial matter.
•Proficiency in written and spoken English and Nepali.
