Hetauda-Kathmandu tunnel route with state government investment
The government of the state-3 is going to build the famous Hetauda-Kathmandu tunnel. The state government has intensified preparations to link Hetauda Kathmandu via the tunnel.
Although the state government had forwarded the tunnel route in its first policy and program as a project of pride, the state had not been able to construct the route for the first year as the private company had a contract period with the central government.
However, by completing the legal and technical preparations this year, the state government has begun to cooperate with the center and local level as well. According to sources in the Ministry of Physical Infrastructure Development, preparations have been made to call for bids within the next three months. It is estimated that an investment of Rs. 3 billion will be made for the construction of the project which is completed within three years.
Chief Minister Dormani Poudel, who is also the Minister for Physical Infrastructure Development, and other ministers are in favor of the construction of the tunnel. Chief Minister Poudel informed Rasas that the government was preparing to start the work that would be completed in this tenure as the state's pride was even planned.
Chief Minister Poudel said that the construction of the tunnel was given priority as it would easily connect the capital of the capital No.1, Hetauda and the capital of the country to Kathmandu and contribute significantly to the economic development of the country.
He said that the state government has forwarded the tunnel route plan with confidence that Nepal will be the backbone of long-term development. According to him, the technical preparation for the structure of the route is completed. Chief Minister Poudel said that currently three-and-a-half-kilometer tunnel from Bhimafedi to Cisnery and the Hetauda-Bhimafedi road and Cisnery Kathmandu are being widened.
After the construction of the tunnel, Hetauda-Kathmandu's hassle and hourly travel time will be reduced to one hour and will provide travel time and financial savings from almost all areas of the country to Kathmandu. Chief Minister Poudel said the tunnel highway would connect all the western, southern and eastern parts of Nepal through Hetauda and significantly enhance the overall economy of the country.
Preparation of the tunnel, which is the most important project in the project of the state No 1 government, is almost complete and now the bidding process will be completed within three months, said Secretary of the Ministry of Physical Development, Tejraj Bhatt.
It is said that a plan to bring Kathmandu through the petroleum pipeline tunnel from India to Amalekhgunj will also be carried forward by connecting it with the construction of the tunnel.
